  • it's not even christmas yet...

and i've already gotten the most beautiful gifts! i have long admired rita martinez's work as well as valeria rossini's - while in paris visiting galerie sophie etc i had the opportunity of seeing some of their work and also try it all on - however, i missed their presence at the gallery and this saddened me! well, they took it upon themselves to put a smile on my face and boy did they succeed! i received the two most beautiful rings and i have been wearing them ever since:

  • NYC JEWELRY WEEK IS ON!

nyc jewelry week is finally here! this incredible and star-studded event began yesterday with a myriad of presentations, exhibits, talks and so much more! a trip to NY to participate in this event is definitely on my bucket list! as many of you know, i was invited by bella and chantel to curate the DISCOVER program for this fall and it was not only a huge honor, but so much fun. i did not know some of the artists who applied and it was a joy to see new work, both in terms of material used as well as techniques. this is a special platform and it's almost like having a billboard in Times Square - the world is watching. i wish all the selected artists lots of success and of course, lots of new business too. this week i have been tackling some tech bugs here so i'm trying to keep the blog updated despite all this. meanwhile, lots of new rings on my ig page and very soon, i will share some exciting news. i have another trip in the works, i'll also be writing about an artist for his new book and i will do my best to get my interviews up. bisous! it made me so happy and satisfied to see the DISCOVER page on the air with so much beauty in it. i know the selected artists had quite the undertaking getting everything ready to go, with beautiful images and their bio. it looks amazing and you should check it out!

  • November is just flying by!

this past weekend I created another Special Stories, this time dedicated to all green rings: Evergreen. it was really something to look for these rings and then decide which ones I'd use for the Stories. the ring here is by Nana Fink and it did not go into these Stories but I thought it would be a lovely ring to illustrate this post. for a long time I used this image (with the artist's blessing) to represent my page and only when the account became verified did I change it to my photo and then finally my new logo! this ring personifies a lot of I look for in a piece: it's so pleasing to the eye and the colors are just perfect, it makes me want to touch the stone... it invites this! in other news I will be confirming another ring-related trip very soon and I think it's going to be awesome! incredible artists, amazing rings and a gorgeous city! I am still in the process of uploading a lot of rings to the gallery here on my website and i am also working on the interviews for the 'let's talk' section! two talented and remarkable people - one artist and one connoisseur. i am sure everyone is going to enjoy it. and as the end of the year approaches, I am already thinking about Special Stories for Christmas or New Year's. most probably a lot of very blingy and sparkly rings. at the rhythm that november is flying by, the end of the year is just around the corner! bisous!

  • Busy week and there's more to come...

it's more like busy month and i love it. my issue #5 of Salut les Garçons has arrived! this latest fashion bible has over 260 pages - amazing content and gorgeous photos all around. and of course the two interviews i did came out the absolute best, i am so pleased! both binliang and salvador were the greatest and it was such a delight to speak to both of them. i had the happy opportunity of meeting binliang in paris last september and that was such a treat. i have been invited by sandro - the genius behind SLG - to collaborate, so from now on i'll have my space in the magazine to share interviews and lots of rings. more to come on that! indeed this will be an important experience for me! i have also finished curating the Discover program from nycjewelryweek and that was quite the honor. i was so happy with the number of people that applied and i can tell you that it was not easy to choose among so many talented artists. my next project involves another invitation to choose one fabulous ring among many in a jewelry event that takes place in London. more details to come. some of you may remember that a few months back i collaborated with sophia zobel from MYOR (make your own ring) and my ring is ready and on its way. i cannot wait! will share photos soon. for halloween i had the best time searching the most incredible skull rings and the Special Stories i shared on october 31 turned out really beautiful and diverse - if you missed it they are up in my Highlights. i found many new interesting artists and this is what i love the most about researching. i am still uploading a lot of rings to the website - the gallery is looking quite beautiful. in the works are two interviews that i'll be sharing here over the next couple of months, maybe spilling over to january - you know how the end of the year gets so busy! i also have another ring collaboration coming, we're just settling the details and then i'll be able to share. wishing everyone a good and prosperous november. today i am wearing my garden ring by immago jewels and my tulp captured in five ring. bisous!

  • Halloween is almost here...

...and so I am busy, busy, searching for the most fantastic skull rings to share in a Special Stories! i know, i know, not very groundbreaking to show skulls in Halloween but there are quite a few beauties and unique rings and they must be shown. I love it that Instagram has gotten into the spirit by offering a special font for the spooky season, it really adds to the themed content. I chose a great photo of an x-ray of a hand wearing a ring (!!!) to introduce this new Stories that will go up on Halloween. skull rings are quite popular but overall I have found that many go the obvious way in terms of design and materials used, so it's been a bit of a challenge to find not only beautiful rings (remembering that beauty is truly in the eye of the beholder) but unique ones that use a different take on the whole theme. I absolutely will share works from all types of artists and accounts - here on fancythisrings we do not care about the popularity, the number of followers or anything like that, so you'll be seeing work from all different artists, some maybe you've never seen before (that is the goal, after all). meanwhile I have been hard at work getting the site to look the way I want it to (easier said than done) and hopefully it will be fully operational in the very near future! bisous!

  • first stop: Goldrush

this was certainly one of the most amazing experiences i've had in my life. i am a very extroverted person but even for me this was out of my comfort zone: to meet and talk to people i had never met (although i have been in contact with several artists over the years) and see all their creations... it was really something else! my first stop was of course at GOLDRUSH, where i was looking forward to meeting valery demure and javier goggins. valery and I first 'met' when she found my page on instagram back in 2021 and was delighted with all the rings i shared. she and I had a live chat and it was so much fun. we have been in constant contact since then and I thought the time had come for me to see it all up close so off i went to paris! and there i also met incredible artists and tried on inumerous gorgeous rings! it was like a dream. valery's team is something else and they all made me feel at ease and at home. the entire event was simply a pleasure and so pleasant. the atmosphere was that of a big family, everyone talking, lots of music, good coffee and treats, the hustling and bustling of clients and photographers... i tell you, i had so much fun! bisous!

  • More rings from Goldrush

i never thought trying on rings and meeting artists would be such an incredible experience! I absolutely loved talking to each one, learning more about their work and their experiences, understanding their creative process, where they are from and so much more. here are some more photos with wonderful pieces, enjoy! bisous!

  • Saturday: Tranoï, baby!

I certainly was not expecting this majestic venue! huge and somewhat intimidating but after I found my way and the artists I was looking for, everything went smoothly. this event is much more focused on fashion but I did find many interesting jewelry artists. I had gone to meet Margaux from Okan Studio and found another artist who I follow and whose rings I find to be simply gorgeous: Kundo Paris, by danish artist Roy Krejbgerg. Here is a bit from Tranoï and more rings! bisous!

  • Sunday: Lots of events!

sunday began with a very french breakfast in a cozy and warm place I found nearby and it was delicious. here i am wearing a ring by Immago Jewels and the lion was a birthday gift from my husband and best friend. then it was off to visit a gallery and another event, coffee with a friend in the afternoon and, at night, a talk with Kyle Roderick (Forbes and bijouxreview) and Paul Schneider from Twistonline. first stop was at Galerie Sophie where they had an exhibit of just rings! made for moi!! Sophie was a dear and let me try all the rings I liked, it was quite the experience. I had hoped to meet some of the artists showing (Rita Martinez, Gaston Bijoux, Marianne Anselin...) but I wasn't able to be there on saturday when they were there. maybe next time! the exhibition is on until november 2nd so if you're in Paris, go to Le Marais and visit them! then I was off to Curate, another fashion event I visited to meet Enri Mars, an italian jewelry artist whose work I really love. after a quick coffee (and carrot cake) at Fika with Sandro, off we went to Goldrush for "45 Minutes of Killer Jewelry Wisdom". needless to say, it was fantastic, interesting, and most certainly a learning experience. I must admit it was quite the compliment when Paul Schneider told me he loved my page and thought I had great taste. It was also an opportunity to meet artist Marc Alary, who coincidentally is from Toulouse (but lives in NY), whose work I admire so much - he'll be featured here soon!bisous! here are some photos from this full day:

  • Goldrush Friday: Day & Night

friday i had lunch with my friend Sandro from Salut le Garçons in the heart of La Marais and afterwards it was time to see everything at Goldrush. Met Valery and Javier and a lot of the artists who were there showing their creations. I talked to several of them - people from Australia, Belgium, Lebanon, Germany, Spain, Japan, USA, and so much more. it never ceases to amaze me how talented and creative jewelry artists can be. the craftsmanship is out of this world and the beauty of it all is astounding. After trying on as many rings as possible it was time for a party (petit comité) with delicious champagne, appetizers and the most fun surprise: Valery invited tooth gem artist Anya from Chai Beauty in the UK and we all had tiny crystals placed on our teeth (it's so tiny and delicate and cute). I dont't think anyone left without one! I finally met Jonathan Wahl, who is the director of the Jewelry Center at the 92 Street Y and interviewed Valery, Marion Faisel and myself back in may to talk about the jewelry world. I cannot say how much this meant to me! Here are some photos from friday afternoon/night! a special thank you to: Clara, Ruby, Rosanna, Gina, Kiralee, Fernando, Marco and Sally! bisous! this is my tiny tooth crystal!
